The Inflammatory Neuropathy Consortium (INC) presents:

2021 EAN/PNS Guideline on Diagnosis and Treatment of CIDP
an open access webinar sponsored by the Peripheral Nerve Society
Wednesday, 27 October 2021
08.00 PDT • 10.00 CDT • 11.00 EDT • 16.00 BST • 17.00 CEST • 12.00 (28 Oct.) JST • 02.00 (28 Oct.) AEDT

This new EAN/PNS CIDP guideline is a long awaited revision of the 2010 EFNS/PNS CIDP guideline. CIDP is a container term for a number of heterogeneous neuropathies, including typical CIDP and CIDP variants. Misdiagnosis is common and mainly occurs in CIDP variants. Therefore, redefining and refining clinical and electrodiagnostic criteria for CIDP variants is a top priority and will be discussed. How possible CIDP or CIDP can be diagnosed based on the strength of the electrodiagnostic evidence supportive of demyelination and upon fulfilment of supportive criteria (imaging, CSF, response to treatment or nerve biopsy) will be discussed. In the diagnostic strategy, much attention is paid to differential diagnosis. Treatment is recommended only if there is disability and impairment and if there is active disease. Recommendations for induction and maintenance treatment will be presented.
