COVID-19 Health & Safety

PNS Annual Meeting: COVID-19 Policy

The Peripheral Nerve Society is highly committed to creating a safe and healthy environment for all attending the PNS Annual Meeting.  While we are excited to reunite with our friends and colleagues, we recognize that COVID-19 is still a risk. We’ve implemented a no-risk refund policy and safety protocols to help promote a safe on-site experience.

Specific health and safety measures will be posted as they become available here. Information on this page is subject to change.

Vaccination Requirement
All in attendance at our meeting (including guests) must complete the COVID-19 vaccination process with two doses of an acceptable vaccine.

For individuals living in the United States, acceptable vaccines will be all FDA authorized (or approved) vaccines for COVID-19.

Individuals living outside of the United States must comply with the current CDC requirements for proof of COVID-19 Vaccination for Air Passengers.

Unvaccinated individuals may select the virtual registration option online to access E-Poster Hall, Plenary Lectures, the Education Course, and Sponsored Symposia content.

Mask Requirement
In accordance with local regulations, face masks are no longer required for this meeting.  Face masks are now optional.  The PNS will provide a limited supply of masks, for those wishing to wear one.

    Social Distancing Indicators
Upon arrival, attendees may choose to select a green, yellow, or red indicator to wear throughout the meeting to indicate a social distancing comfort level. The PNS requests all attendees be respectful of the preferences shown by their fellow attendees.

    • Green: High fives and handshakes are okay with frequent hand washing.
    • Yellow: Elbows only. Still being cautious.
    • Red: No contact. Maintain distance where possible.

    Enhanced Cleaning Protocols
Please click here to view all health & safety measures at the InterContinental Miami. In addition, the InterContinental Miami follows the IHG Way of Clean Program, developed in partnership with Ecolab and Diversey – both leaders in hygiene and cleaning technology services. This program has expanded to reflect the advice of regional and global health authorities, including the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, and local public health authorities in markets around the world. Local COVID-19 Policies

The PNS is working closely with the city of Miami to ensure meeting attendees can meet safely. New information on local COVID-19 policies will be updated here as they become available.

COVID-19 Testing Sites – Important Information for International Travelers

Click here to find a local testing site in the Miami area.  A good option for our international travelers is the Nomi Health location (Stephen P. Clark Center). Online pre-registration is required.  No appointment time is needed, and testing is always free.  PNS meeting attendees may use the free Miami downtown ‘People Mover’ to get to the testing center.  The Bayfront Park Station is located directly outside the main doors of the InterContinental Hotel.  Take the Omni Route, from Bayfront Park Station to the Government Center Station.  The testing site is located directly outside the Government Center Station (a 20-minute walk from the hotel if you prefer to travel on foot).  Please note, you will need a smartphone or a printout to show your QR code upon arrival.  The QR code is sent by email after you pre-register.
