Will any abstract awards be given at the 2022 PNS Annual Meeting?
Yes. The PNS awards eight $750 cash prizes each year to current PNS Junior Members presenting abstracts. The prizes are given as a tribute to the luminaries in our field. Click here for more information.
- Arthur K. Asbury Prize: The abstract must pertain to GBS/CIDP/Inflammatory.
- Richard & Mary Bunge Prize: The abstract must pertain to nerve biology.
- Peter J. Dyck Prize: The abstract must pertain to diabetes.
- J.W. Griffin Prize: The abstract must pertain to regeneration.
- Pembroke Award: The presenting author must be from Australia, New Zealand or South Asia.
- P.K. Thomas Prize: The abstract must pertain to inherited neuropathies.
- Richard A.C. Hughes Prize: The abstract must pertain to clinical topics.
- Anita Harding Prize: The presenting author must be female.
Prizes will be presented on Tuesday, 17 May. In evaluating each presentation, the prize committee will consider the quality of the presentation, groundbreaking/innovative results, and the quality of the presenter. The presenter must be a current Junior Member of the PNS at the time the abstract is submitted and is required to attend the Annual Meeting.
Will Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits be offered for the Annual Meeting?
No, CME’s will not be offered as part of the Annual Meeting.
Will you provide a certificate of attendance?
Yes, upon completion of the post-meeting evaluation you will receive a certificate of attendance.
Can I present my abstract virtually?
Yes, you may indicate on your abstract submission if you wish to be considered for an e-poster only. If your travel plans have changed since you submitted your abstract and you wish to update your preferred presentation type, please email meetings@PNSociety.com.
If my abstract is accepted for a platform/oral presentation, am I also required to prepare a poster for the meeting?
Yes, the PNS is unique. All presenters are required to present a poster at the meeting. This year, the PNS will also provide an opportunity to upload an e-poster to maximize attendee viewing. The e-poster hall gallery will be made available to both in-person and virtual meeting delegates (6 May – 31 December 2022).
What is your abstract embargo policy?
The embargo for all abstracts at the upcoming 2022 PNS Annual Meeting is 4.00 PM CT (US/Canada), Friday, 6 May 2022, which is the date and time all abstracts will be posted online. Information contained in those abstracts may not be released until the abstracts appear online.
What is the abstract copyright policy?
Accepted abstracts will be published as a compilation in an abstract supplement of our Journal, the Journal of the Peripheral Nervous System (JPNS), under copyright by the Peripheral Nerve Society. Individual abstracts are not copyrighted by the Society, and you are free to publish or present your work elsewhere.
